Learn how to create Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) that provide students the knowledge and skills to protect and restore their local watershed by reducing stormwater runoff pollution.
Through learner-centered experiences, students investigate local environmental issues and experience informed civic engagement. You’ll gain a deep understanding of MWEEs as a vehicle for advancing environmental literacy and stormwater stewardship, while increasing standards-based student achievement.
This workshop will cover the MWEE framework, The DEP Environmental Education Grant Program, Funding sources for public schools and communities that are required to reduce stormwater within the Lake Erie Watershed, and Demonstrations of stormwater best management practices in Erie County.
Act 48 credit is available.
