Erie represented at the 3rd Annual European Climate Conference

More than 850 participants from 40 different countries were represented at the 3rd Annual European Climate Conference held in Glasgow, Scotland. The vision of this conference was to inspire and enable people to work together to discover and deliver positive climate adaptation solutions that can strengthen society, revitalize local economies, and enhance the environment.
Pennsylvania Sea Grant Extension Leader, Sara Stahlman attended the conference to represent Erie and the work CRANE is doing to build resiliency and engage the community towards climate action. Along with partners from Maryland Sea Grant, North Carolina Sea Grant, and Florida Sea Grant, Sara presented climate adaptation information from a United States perspective, including the challenges faced by local communities to moving forward with climate and resiliency planning, and the steps we are taking to overcome those barriers.
Other conference events included a poster session where participants could interact and learn about specific projects CRANE is working on, and networking opportunities to get an international viewpoint on climate change issues.
